Dippy Duck is a character from our Letterland Phonics program. This student wrote about a problem that
the characters faced in one of the videos that accompanied the curriculum. In her story "Clever Cat" is stuck in the
water and is rescued by "Dippy Duck."
She wrote this story during a focus on using First/Next/Last to show the beginning, middle and end of a story.
After she finished her text, she went back and added these words to make it sound more like what we had been studying.

|
Dippy Duck makes the sound at the beginning of her name. /D/. |

|
And Dippy Duck swims in the water. "Oh dear", said Dippy Duck. "Clever Cat is drowning." |

|
Dippy Duck came to save him. He swam. Dippy Duck said "Clever Cat, are you okay?" |
"Yes", said Clever Cat.
