"Our Heroes"

  

The "Our Heroes" book was the culmination of our study of Martin Luther King Jr.  The class had talked about what makes a person a hero and why they thought that Martin Luther King Jr. was considered a hero.  Then we brainstormed other people who were heroes to us- real people that we interacted with, not just people we read about in books. 
 
The format of the book is in riddles.  Each child wrote three "clues" about their hero, and then illustrated the person on the next page.  Their classmates had to guess who the hero was from the clues that they wrote, and then turn the page to discover the answer.  Our illustrations were done in craypas and chalk.
